STAMPIN' UP! HAND MADE CHRISTMAS CARD DONATIONS FOR OUR DIGGERS

CARDS FOR TROOPS

After going to convention on the weekend and catching up with Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around Australia, the one thing we all had in common that stood out was our love for Card Making sharing and giving.  There was much discussion about our cards for the troops campaign from MOTHER'S DAY this year and CHRISTMAS CARDS from last year.

It is with great pleasure to announce that Karen Cummings and I will again this christmas organise Christmas Cards for our Aussie Diggers overseas. Did you know that we currently have 3,700 australian armed forces in combat zones around the world.  Navy, Army and Air Force, providing peace keeping missions in such places as Iraq, Afghanistan, Samolia, Eygpt and many many more places.  While some might not support such missions, it goes without saying that we should support our men and women that are there doing a job.

So this year we would like each of them to be able to send home 1 hand made christmas card each.  So our goal for hand made christmas cards this year is 1,000.  So come all card makers around australia, please help by starting now and donating christmas cards for the diggers this year.

If we all make one card a week each between now and October 31st i am sure we can reach it. Here are some ways to make it more fun to join in:  Why not join NIKKI SADLER in Merry Made Monday. Each monday nikki makes a christmas card design which she does 2 of and one of them gets set aside for the troops, why not join in on MMM and upload your creation each monday.  I know i will be joining in.

Organise a Christmas Card making day for the aussie diggers at your place with an open house.  May be set aside a family day with all your family to make Christmas Cards for the diggers.  Perhaps you could get your church group involved once a month spending a few hours.  I know one of the ways we raised many cards last year was at my place, so again this year i will be having christmas cards for the diggers open day on OCTOBER 3rd & 23rd    12pm - 6pm, so keep this date free if you live in sydney, central coast or newcastle regions and come along.  It is a great day out and a much worthwhile cause. Maybe even consider one of your stamp clubs being set aside for making cards for the diggers.  There are lots of ways in which to have fun making and donating christmas cards.

There are a few things that will help Karen and I to make the collecting process much easier and reaching our goal of 3,700 cards. And we would greatly appreciate all of your donations, could you please include the following:

1). HAVE ALL YOUR DONATIONS TO EITHER MYSELF OR KAREN CUMMINGS NO LATER THAN OCTOBER 31st

2). PLEASE HAVE ALL YOUR DONATIONS IN A ZIP LOCK LUNCH BAG WITH THE QUANTITIES OF CARDS CLEARLY WRITTEN ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE BAG, WITH YOUR NAME AND ADDRESS IN BLACK MARKER
(name and address is optional if you wish to receive correspondence back)

3). SO THAT THE DIGGERS CAN SEND THEIR CARD TO THEIR LOVE ONES, PLEASE INCLUDE AN ENVELOPE FOR EACH CARD YOU MAKE.

4). PLEASE CONSIDER ADDING THE HEART BLINKIE TO YOUR BLOG TO SPREAD THE WORD AND INCREASE CIRCULATION, SO THAT MORE PEOPLE CAN FIND OUT ABOUT IT AND HELP. Just EMAIL ME for the blinkie html

Thank You so Much in advance for any and all donations you can send and of course your support.
